  • Description:
  • The Mohawk Council of KahnawΓ :ke (MCK) is exploring the feasibility of implementing tolling infrastructure on select roadways that pass through the Territory. These routes form part of major regional transportation corridors used by thousands of vehicles each day, connecting KahnawΓ :ke to the greater Montreal area and the South Shore.
The purpose of this initiative is to undertake a feasibility study to evaluate the technical and financial implications of introducing tolls on these routes. The study will assess tolling technologies, infrastructure requirements, traffic and revenue projections, and potential implementation models. Findings will provide the MCK with the information necessary to determine the viability of a tolling system and its potential to support sustainable community infrastructure investments.
The routes currently under consideration include Routes 132, 138, and 207, which serve as the primary corridors through the Territory.
The consultant will be expected to review available data, analyze tolling options, and deliver clear, evidence-based recommendations that will inform decision-making on whether and how a tolling framework could be implemented. The feasibility study will focus primarily on the technical and financial dimensions of the project.
