- Notice of Proposed Procurement
The National Research Council of Canada (NRC) requests proposals from qualified contractors for a feasibility study on the replacement of an aircraft door hangar, with the potential for the reuse of construction materials, and optional services including inspection, concept design, engineering drawings, Class D estimates, and construction.
The Contractor will develop three conceptual design options, including all relevant architectural and engineering development options:
1. Replace only necessary parts/equipment to return doors to reliable operating condition;
2. Replace only the necessary parts/equipment to restore the doors to a reliable operating condition and improve the thermal performance of the doors;
3. Complete replacement of doors (thermally broken, highly insulated and airtight)
4. Design and Cost Estimation
In order to meet the objectives outlined as part of the Feasibility Study development, the Contractor shall, at a minimum, conduct the following:
1. Prepare three high-level, feasible conceptual options to meet project requirements;
2. Prepare complete a comparative evaluation of all available options and formulate a
recommendation regarding the preferred option, taking into account the overall objectives and
requirements of the project;
3. Capital costs, operation and maintenance costs, code analysis, accessibility analysis, sustainable
