Description:
Windsor Regional Hospital (“WRH”) is the 15th largest hospital in the Province of Ontario and the 7th largest community teaching hospital, serving a growing population of more than 468,000 people in the City of Windsor and County of Essex. WRH also provides tertiary and quaternary care to thousands more every year.In 2012, a task force created to examine the need and desire for a new hospital in the area recommended moving forward immediately with planning for a new single-site acute care hospital to replace the current two (2) campuses. WRH is following the Ministry of Health-s Three (3) Stage Capital Planning Process for the new hospital. Plans for the new hospital include capacity for 100% private rooms, shelled-in space for future growth, a simulation training centre and auditorium, Indigenous healing space, a cafeteria with outdoor seating, and links to city-planned trails and bus service.The objective of this RFP is to select a supplier to provide advice to IO and WRH (collectively the “Sponsors”) with respect to, but not limited to, strategic decisions on new spaces, coordination between new and existing service providers, scope of facility management services, handover to the Project Company (the “PCo” or “Project Co”) and industry best practices and standards on facilities management and lifecycle replacement.
