Description : Explore Waterloo Region is the Destination Marketing Organization for the Region of Waterloo. The Sport Hosting Office is the sport events focused arm of the organization, and represents a diverse group of interested parties as it pertains to sport events, infrastructure and programming. This group works to develop the destination, promote events, venues, and hospitality partners in the sport market. The Sport Hosting Office represents interested parties including municipal partners, post-secondary institutions, and sport organizations. Collectively, Waterloo Region has a strong baseball community, each major city currently has/had a stadium to support high performance baseball. In every case, each stadium would require major capital investment and upgrades to meet current standards for play, spectator safety & comfort and amenities. None of the aforementioned venues have sufficient spectator capacity to meet the demands of high-performance baseball events at this point in time.
