  • Scope of Work/Overview:The two sets of double entrance doors (4 doors in total) are a heritage character defining element and are beginning to deteriorate. Consultant to investigate and provide recommendations for repair or replacement.The Consultant must produce a comprehensive heritage condition assessment of the original doors and their components (including hardware, glass, closers, and frames) and demonstrate opportunities for restoration and rehabilitation that align with the Standards and Guidelines for the Conservation of Historic Places in Canada. Consultant to recommend a minimal intervention approach. Provide a heritage condition assessment, as well as option analyses which include heritage risk magnitude and mitigation of interventions.The Consultant must take into consideration the building's heritage values and character-defining elements when developing options and throughout the design phase following appropriate heritage conservation standards. Deliver all option analyses in accordance with the federally adopted Standards and Guidelines for the Conservation of Historic Places in Canada (2010), Public Services and Procurement Canada's conservation plans and guidelines for the building. Options must demonstrate conformance to the Standards and Guidelines and provide recommended interventions for all character-defining elements with justifications and rationale based on the heritage values identified in the Heritage Character Statement.Consultant must address ap...
