Notice of Intent to Award a Contract
Notice is hereby given that the City of Abbotsford (the “City”) is contemplating making a direct award of a contract to Kerr Wood Leidal Consulting Engineers (“KWL”) (the “Service Provider”) for the following:
To complete the currently envisioned scope of work:
1) SP-04: tender and construction services, completion reporting;2) SP-58N: construction services, completion reporting;3) SP-12: design, tender and construction services, completion reporting;4) SP-66: design, tender and construction services, completion reporting;5) SP-10/67: finalization of assessments pending CoA review;6) Post-construction monitoring of SP-52/57/58/58N (April 1/25 to March 31/26 only); and7) Continued project management and First Nation engagement.
The contract will be extended through to December 31, 2026 to complete all of the contemplated works.
Background
The November 2021 extreme weather event has caused flooding in various parts of the City, and most notably the widespread flooding in the Sumas Prairie, due to the Nooksack River overflow from Whatcom County in the United States.
