Description:
.1 Working towards the outcomes and objectives identified within the Trails Master Plan, the successful Proponent is to apply proven parks-based technical design practices in conjunction with appropriate tools and skilled resources through the Assessment, Detailed Design, Approval Process, Tender,Construction and Project Close Out phases for each of the two (2) pathway segments to achieve the end results desired by the Province. .2 The work to be accomplished under this project includes: .1 Assessment of pathway conditions and documentation of the current conditions. .2 Prepare detailed designrecommendations for upgrading the following pathway segments: .1 McKenzie Trail Pathway Segment requires replacement including base and weed control matting of approximately 370 linear meters of pathway from the north side of Bridge 9 to the City of Calgary pathway along Canyon Meadows Dr SE. Thisincludes engineering for a new switchback pathway on the escarpment (as initially identified in the Trails Master Plan, 2022). Due to the low water table along Fish Creek at the base of the escarpment, engineering will also be required to ensure solutions are developed to maintain the pathway'slong-term integrity. .2 Bow River Pathway Segment requires pathway replacement including base and weed/root control matting of approximately 1100 liner meters of pathway adjacent to the Bow River shoreline.
