- Description:
- This offered contract is for Maintenance and Snowplowing of Forest Service Roads within the Selkirk Resource District - Kootenay Lake Zone. Forest Service Road Maintenance works will include but are not limited to: brush pulling, ditch-line clean out, culvert intake and outlet clean out, culvert replacement, snag removal, woody and rocky debris removal/end haul, bridge curb and deck replacement, bridge and road sign replacement/repair, landslide mitigation, barricade establishment, fill and cut slope failure repair and snowplowing. Required material such as culverts, bridge timbers and road signs or posts are supplied by the Ministry. Hauling of the required materials, however, will be part of the contractor-s responsibility. Brush pulling/removal must be completed consistent with the Wildfire Act requirements and Migratory Bird Best Management Practices. A Laborer, with their own pick up, is to work in conjunction with equipment to place signage, direct traffic, remove rocks/debris from the driving surface, clean out culvert intakes/outlets after works, bucking out tree leaners over the ditch and road, clean off bridge decks, fill in voids, assist with bridge structure repairs and material hauling etc. The works tentatively planned for 2026 are generally located near the communities of Kaslo, Sanca Creek, Nelson, Blewett and Creston BC.
