• Description:
• The Ministry of Forests is seeking proposals from qualified and experienced forest professionals for forest service road (FSR) inspections, prescriptions and heavy equipment project monitoring (e.g. FSR maintenance, emergency repairs, deactivation). This Request for Proposal (RFP) is focused on providing the above services in the Selkirk Natural Resource District, “Kootenay Lake Zone” as shown on the EN27DSE003 - Kootenay Lake Zone Map. The Kootenay Lake zone includes Duncan Lake, Kootenay Lake and the communities of Beasley, Nelson, Kaslo, Crawford Bay, Meadow Creek, Yahk and Poplar creek, to name a few. This contract has a one-year duration. The contract may be renewed for up to two separate terms that are 12 months each, by written agreement of the parties and subject to satisfactory performance by the Contractor and the availability of funding by the province. The quantity and type of works listed are dependent on program funding and project priorities, which can vary from year to year, and will be “as and when required”. The tentative list of projects for 2026 includes: FSR maintenance projects, one FSR deactivation project, road inspections and data collection/field marking for one FSR deactivation prescription. As this RFP has an option to renew, there is a desire to have a contractor with qualified key personnel available to do the above works in subsequent years if the contract is renewed.
