Summary Details:
The Province of British Columbia is actively involved in the planning and management of ocean-related activities in partnership with the Government of Canada and First Nations and in consultation with stakeholders and local governments. Understanding how marine ecosystems benefit coastal communities is essential for supporting near- and long-term decision making in the Northern Shelf Bioregion (NSB).
Through this Request for Proposals (RFP), the Ministry of Forests, Lands, Natural Resource Operations and Rural Development is seeking the services of a contractor to develop a model and baseline estimate of "Ecosystem Service Provision in the Northern Shelf Bioregion". Based on the best available information, the successful Proponent will develop a spatially explicit model of the provision of ecosystem goods and services in the NSB. To support the work, the Contractor will be provided access to spatial data layers of ecological features of the NSB that have been developed, inventoried, and used in a variety of marine planning processes in the region. Other data may be identified throughout the project.
