Site Preparation - Forests Stand Management

Summary Details:
BC Parks seeks to continue fuel management activities in the Bonnevier area of E.C. Manning Provincial Park, near the community of Eastgate. Originally commenced in 2010, the prescription and related treatments sought to reduce fuel load and restore ecological integrity to this area, and has progressed as funding has permitted over the last decade.
Last year, BC Parks updated and simplified the project prescription and continued with a prioritized approach to treatment. In 2021 BC Parks intends to continue with this work, in a prioritized manner, to further achieve the objectives of protecting the community of Eastgate from wildfire, building ecological integrity back into a fire-suppressed stand, and maintaining the recreational values of the area.
BC Parks is seeking proposals from proponents to provide a 3-person crew and all required tools, equipment and supplies at an all-found day rate to work through treatment priorities 1 to 3 (see attached prescription and kml.) and complete other associated tasks (see RFP document). Work is date-sensitive, so proponents should be aware of their availability during the course of this project. A machine is permitted to assist with stand-management activities, but preference will be given to those with a "light on the land" approach and minimal footprint.
