• This request for tender is for the replacement of watermain and water services on Main St. W. from Patton St. to Christie St., Main St. E from Ontario St. to Robinson St., Elm St. from Main St. W. to Main St. E., Mountain/Christie St. from Elm St. to Elizabeth St., and Rossmore Ave. from Main St. E. to the limit of Town Property. The total length of watermain replacement is approximately 1.6km. The majority of the watermain will be installed via open cut, with the exception of the Forty Mile Creek crossing on Elm St. which will be installed via Horizontal directional drilling. The project scope also includes open cut replacement of sanitary laterals on Mountain St. from Elm St. to Main St. W. and a short section of mainline sanitary sewer installation. The contractor shall undertake the requisite field work in accordance with the applicable standards and specifications laid out within this document.
  This RFT is phase one of a two-phase project which includes complete street reconstruction of the downtown core in phase 2. It should be noted that Mountain Road is the main truck route up the escarpment and the proposed closure to complete this work will necessitate signage, and detours on Region of Niagara, City of Hamilton, Town of Lincoln, and MTO property. Conceptual phasing and detour plans have been prepared and submitted to these agencies for review in advance of this RFT in an effort to expedite approvals.
