- Tender are invited for DNA Testing Services
Project Description : Clients will be involved with the Child Support Services program of the Ministry of Seniors, Community and Social Services. DNA testing may be court ordered, requested by the alleged father or requested by the Province to assist with kinship searches. There are approximately 90 cases referred for DNA testing each year, of which 80 are booked and completed. Approximately one third of completed DNA testing involve payment by the Province. For the remaining cases, the alleged fathers are responsible for paying the entire cost. In some cases, the alleged fathers may arrange for payment by Legal Aid. It is anticipated that service volume will continue to be close to this level. Sample collection sites must be available to all parties within a reasonable distance of travel from their home. The alleged father, who may reside within Canada but outside of Alberta, also needs to have access to a sample collection site within a reasonable distance from his home. The successful Contractor will be required to make their own arrangements for collection of the samples, which may include sub-contracting.
