Manitoba Hydro Notice of Intended ProcurementProcurement Title: Dispatchable CapacityReference Number: NOIP - 043687Department: Strategic Sourcing DepartmentDate of Issue: 2026/03/12________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ This Notice of Intended Procurement (NOIP) is issued solely for information purposes and will not necessarily result in the issue of an RFP or Tender or result in the future award of a contract. Description of ProcurementManitoba Hydro intends to issue a Request for Proposal to procure an Engineer-Procure-Construct (EPC) Contractor. The anticipated procurement would support the execution of Manitoba Hydro's Dispatchable Capacity Project as a major capital initiative to deliver new combustion turbine generation capacity at the Brandon Generating Station, along with associated transmission and gas pipeline infrastructure, to support system reliability and meet future energy needs. The project scope includes the installation of three heavy-frame simple cycle gas turbine units (each 200-300 MW) in a new building with supporting infrastructure, with an in-service date (ISD) targeted for Summer 2030. The Front End Engineering Design (FEED) has been initiated with a target completion in Summer 2026. Transmission and gas pipeline are interdependent projects representing critical interfaces.
