Description:
Cornwall Community Hospital wishes to engage an Energy Partner under an energy performance design-build contract for a project involving the installation of a new central heating plant and domestic hot water generation system on the hospital site as well as replacing the hospital-s steam plant. The hospital currently has a contract in place with district heating plant for primary building heat and domestic hot water heating.The central steam boiler plant currently on the hospital site is aged and will be replaced as part of this project. The steam plant provides steam for humidification, sterilization and for the kitchen. The steam plant also provides backup heat in the event that the district heating plant is unable to provide heating water to the hospital. Proposals shall include a review of a de-centralized approach to providing humidification for the building as well as steam for sterilization and the kitchen. The hospital has previously engaged a consulting engineering firm to complete a study and concept design. The successful energy partner shall utilize this report as a starting point for the design of the new heating plant, domestic hot water and steam generation. Further, as part of the project scope, the heat exchanger and associated pumping and controls currently serving the air handling units in the JMP Penthouse are to be replaced along with distribution piping from the new boiler plant to the JMP Penthouse.
