Description:
The Town of Coronation is launching the design and construction of a fully enclosed, multi-purpose aquatic and recreation facility that will serve as a cornerstone of regional wellness, community gathering, and year-round fitness. The project is being developed in response to extensive publicconsultation, Council direction, and community demand for improved recreation access during all seasons, particularly Alberta's colder months. This facility will enclose a new public swimming pool currently being designed by Western Recreation and will feature amenities including an enclosed waterslide tower, gymnasium space, universal and accessible change rooms, mechanical and staff areas, and supporting infrastructure. The facility is expected to serve as a vital recreational, educational, and wellness hub for families, youth, seniors, and individuals of all abilities across Coronation andsurrounding areas. The building will be designed with a minimum 130' x 100' footprint, and incorporate R-30 insulation, mold- and moisture-resistant materials, and a rubberized, non-slip floor system for safety and ease of maintenance. The Town has also requested an alternate design option for a 150'x 100' layout, should additional funding (e.g., via CFEP) be secured.
