Description:
Between 2018 and 2023, the BC Lean for Food Processors Program supported contractor-delivered Lean operational assessments and training to 165 food processing businesses through a total investment of ~$1.1 million. Following an extensive program review, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food is seeking a Recipient to administer a refreshed Processor Productivity Program (the Program), a successor to the BC Lean for Food Processors Program. This refreshed Program will focus on growth ready businesses with a new opportunity for Participant cost-share funding to boost implementation of short-term productivity supports. The Ministry is seeking a Recipient interested in developing, implementing and administering a two-phased Program, including: Phase 1: Marketing the Program and recruiting eligible businesses Evaluating applications and selecting eligible businesses for participation Creating a formal, multi-day Lean training curriculum tailored to BC-s food and beverage processing sector Delivering Lean training and coaching to Participant businesses Delivering on-site assessment and improvement session(s) Delivering follow up support and coaching Preparing an Operational Productivity Assessment Report for Participant businesses with recommendations for immediate, short-term and longer-term productivity improvements Phase 2: Developing, implementing, and administering a Phase 2 cost-share program to adopt eligible improvements identified through operational productivity assessm...
