Project Description : REQUEST FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST AND STATEMENTS OF QUALIFICATIONSSCOPE OF SERVICESThis project consists ofconstructing a gas fired boiler plant (Energy Center) within a customer building located at 13445 94A Avenue, Surrey. The timelines set out by the developer is completion April 2024.The City of Surrey, one of thefastest growing municipalities in Canada, is developing a major city centre (the “City Centre”). The planned density of commercial and multi-residential development within this area is conducive to the development of a district energy system (“DES”), which has been confirmed through feasibility studies conducted by third party consultants. The implementation of a DES provides an opportunity for the City to realize a community scale reduction ingreenhouse gas emissions from buildings through the application of renewable energy in the DES. At build-out, the City-s DES may be one of the largestnetworks in North America.The City-s DES is providing thermalenergy to predominately new buildings in the City Centre. One of these developments is located at 13445 94A Avenue in Surrey. We are still in the early years of the utility and DE distributing piping is not available to provide thermal energy to the development at 13445 94A Avenue. Where DE distribution piping is not available, the City will install a discrete building-scale boiler plant within developments ...
