Do you have experience with reviewing workplace processes? Do you have an eye for detail and enthusiasm for hiring processes? Are you interested in being part of the team that supports fair hiring in the BC Public Service? The Office of the Merit Commissioner is looking for contract auditors to assist in the audit review process. About the Merit Commissioner: As an independent Officer of the Legislature, the Merit Commissioner provides hiring oversight in the BC Public Service to ensure hiring decisions are fair and based on merit. The Office of the Merit Commissioner does this by auditing appointments and by reviewing staffing decisions on request. About the Opportunity: As a contract auditor, you will review randomly selected competitions from within the BC Public Service to determine if merit was applied in the process and if the individuals appointed were qualified. You will complete your work with objectivity and independence. Your hours are flexible and the work is primarily remote, with the exception of very occasional on-site training in our Victoria office. We provide training on our processes and offer support throughout audit reviews.
