Description:
The Township is currently working through a Business Engagement Program (BEP), the data collected will provide information for the Township to better understand opportunities for Business Retention, Expansion & Attraction (BREA) in Oro-Medonte. The project is focused on the Township-s 4 key sectors as identified in the Economic Development Strategy: agriculture, manufacturing, service-based sectors and tourism. In addition to information gathered from vacant & underutilized land where development opportunities may exist. The geography of this project is mainly concentrated around the Highway 11 corridor, which includes prime industrial, commercial and agriculture lands. The results of this project will provide insights and recommendations, based on the data from the business community, recognizing challenges and opportunities that businesses and property owners face. This final report will provide strategic direction through an action plan for the Township to attract and retain businesses, support local employment, prepare and attract future investment, ultimately enhancing the economic growth in Oro-Medonte.
