Description : Medication Systems and Medical Informatics (MSMI) is a program within the Innovation, Analytics, and Information (IAI) portfolio at Island Health. The Medication Systems component of MSMI includes two (2) programs: pharmacy services and medication safety. However, the medication extends beyond these two (2) program areas and extends into all aspects of Island Health's clinical operations. This consulting engagement is focused on the analysis and subsequent transformation of pharmacy services as a component of the medication system. Pharmacy services at Island Health is a comprehensive program including clinical pharmacy services, medication supply chain and procurement, medication production, medication distribution, pharmacy informatics, and quality. The goal of this project is to create a document that can form the basis of a multi-year strategic plan for Medication Systems that includes transformation of pharmacy services at Island Health, including all aspects of pharmaceutical clinical care, pharmacy operations, pharmaceutical production, pharmacy information technology, medication safety, and service quality and evaluation.
