Description:
The two natural gas fired boilers each of 6300 mbh capacity, serving the Lab heating system, are nearing the end of their service life, as well as experiencing issues with the associated burners' controls, tripping issues which might be caused by different reasons, ex. airflow issues, faulty or failing component(s), water leak, etc. Additionally, the associated piping is having ongoing issues due to ongoing failure of Victaulic joints; pumps are at end of life and experiencing seal failure. Conduct a study to evaluate the conditions of the lab boilers', their components, and verify capacity/size, sequence of operations; consequently, provide recommendations to best optimize, upgrade or replace the system considering energy savings and reduction of GHG emissions. Each option shall be presented with its pros and cons along with a class D cost estimate. All options shall be in accordance with NBC, provincial regulations (i.e., 220/01, Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA)), CSA B51 and applicable codes, standards, and regulations.
