Description:
The Village of Masset is inviting bids from contractors experienced in roadway construction and upgrades, including paving over gravel roads. This significant project, located in remote northern British Columbia, involves enhancing 38 streets within a two-year period. The successful bidder will be familiar with the logistical challenges of transporting and delivering quality aggregate and asphalt in this region and capable of working closely with the Village and its representatives.

The contractor-s scope will cover ground preparation, removal of existing surfaces, subgrade reforming, and the installation of base and sub-base materials. The application of hot-mix asphalt for new and rehabilitated pavement, alongside potential additions of curbing and sidewalks as per project specifications, is also required.

The project seeks to engage a contractor with a qualified team skilled in the logistical challenges of construction in Northern BC and Haida Gwaii.

Qualified contractors are encouraged to submit a proposal detailing their approach, services, and projected efforts for each segment of the project. Construction is anticipated to start in late spring or summer 2024, with a completion in late summer 2025. This schedule may be adjusted following initial negotiation.
