The Microscope will be used to identify structural and molecular groups in liquids and solids at a spatial resolution down to the micrometer-scale with mapping and heating/cooling capabilitiesThe Confocal Raman Microscope must include all of the following: 1. Integrated microscopea) Two eyepieces (binocular) and video for sample viewing;b) a set of 5x, 20x, 100x objectives;c) a 50x objective with a long working distance greater than 6 mm; andd) Class 3B microscope enclosure with laser safety interlocks2. Peltier-cooled high-sensitivity CCD array detector with 1024 pixel width;3. Spectrometer with gratings to cover the wavelengths of the 3 required laser assemblies (see item 4);4.
