The District of Kitimat (DoK) has completed a desktop assessment of the existing water system to support future planning and funding opportunities to upgrade the water system. As a result of this assessment, the DoK invites proponents to submit a Proposal for the design-build of a chlorinator upgrade project and associated works.
The DoK is seeking to upgrade their water treatment facility by changing the water treatment method from gas chlorination to hypo-chlorination. This will take place at two locations in Kitimat: The Pre-Chlorination Building and the Cable-Car Building. This will take place under work package A1. The drawing package A1: Hypochlorite attached to this report shows additional information on this work scope. A soda ash water conditioning system will also be installed at the Pre-Chlorination building to increase water pH levels. This will take place under work package A2. Proponents responding to this invitation will submit proposals describing in sufficient detail the technical and financial aspects of their plan to meet the formal and technical requirements specified herein.
