- Description:
- The District of Kitimat (the “District”) requests Proposals from qualified and experienced Contractors to provide residential curbside collection services for a term of five years, with the possibility of up to two optional one-year contract extensions based on mutual agreement between both parties, beginning August 1, 2026. Subject to Council approval and any necessary revisions to the District of Kitimat Municipal Code it is anticipated the collection services will continue as described herein. Broadly described, the services will consist of: Bi-weekly (every-other-week) Garbage collection (to alternate with Recyclable Materials collection) Bi-weekly (every-other-week) collection of Recyclable Materials (alternate weeks to garbage collection) Weekly collection of Food Waste Seasonal (April-November) collection of separated Yard Waste. The collection services described above are provided to residential properties within the District of Kitimat. Homes located in the Village of Kitamaat receive Garbage, Recyclable Materials and Food Waste (not Yard Waste) collection services as part of this contract.
