Services The goal of this RFP is to support the safe, and high-quality delivery of outpatient procedures in non-hospital settings that meet clinical standards and infection prevention protocols. This initiative aims to reduce wait times, align patients with appropriate care settings, and improve system-wide access through safe, efficient, and equitable care pathways. Endoscopy plays a critical role in diagnosis, treatment, and surveillance, but current capacity has not kept pace with rising demand—As of April 2025, over 7,351 patients are on Saskatoon's wait list, with 2,395 waiting more than 12 months. Variation in service delivery and limited hospital capacity contribute to delays, prompting the need for alternative solutions aligned with the SHA-s 3-year endoscopy strategy. The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) is seeking a third-party provider to deliver outpatient endoscopy services including Colonoscopy, Gastroscopy, and Sigmoidoscopy, with potential future expansion to include select ambulatory care procedures. These procedures must meet established clinical and infection prevention standards and be delivered in a non-hospital, community-based setting. Community-based endoscopy services will improve access to timely care, reduce system pressures, and ensure patients are treated in the most appropriate setting.
