Overview
College Street, Emmett Street, and Church Hill are local roads in a quiet neighbourhood in the Fonthill area. The three roadways have a two-lane semi-urban cross-section complete with sidewalks on one side of each road.
The existing servicing for College Street and Emmett Street includes a 150mm Cast-Iron water main, which connects to Pelham Street and Station Street, and a 200mm Asbestos cement Sanitary Sewer. Church Hill is serviced with a 150mm PVC Watermain and a 200mm Asbestos cement Sanitary Sewer. There are currently no storm sewers on these streets; however, there is a new storm sewer planned to be constructed on Station Street between Highway 20 and Port Robinson Road in 2026, which will be used as the outlet for these streets. The new storm sewer on College Street is to extend from Station Street to Church Hill to provide an outlet for the Church Hill sewer and the future storm sewer on Canboro Road, allowances have been made in the Station Street sewer design to accommodate these flows.
The purpose of this engineering assignment is to complete the detailed design, prepare the tender documents, provide assistance during the tendering process, and provide Contract Administration and Construction Inspection services for the construction phase of the project (Note: the CA and Inspection services are provisional to the contract and may be awarded at the same time as the construction contract is awarded).
