• The McKenzie Clearwater Fire Protection Corporation (the “Corporation”) is issuing this Request for Proposals to prospective proponents for Expansion of the McKenzie Clearwater Fire Protection Corporation - Clearwater Bay Fire Hall.The McKenzie Clearwater Fire Department is located in Northwestern Ontario and covers a territory west from Kenora to the Manitoba Border along Highway 17, the CNR tracks to the north with the exception of Ingolf, and all roads south of the CNR tracks. The territory is the largest LSB in Ontario at approximately 875 square KM and also includes all islands in Rush Bay, Echo Bay and north of a line down the centre of Ptarmigan Bay and the Islands outside of the Kenora city limits. The McKenzie Clearwater Fire Department services approximately 2,500 properties.The replacement Fire Hall building is to be approximately 6,500 ft2 (604 m2) and is intended to be constructed to the east of the existing fire hall. The existing building is intended to be left in place as a storage building, separate from the proposed replacement building. The existing well requires replacement as it is located in the proposed expansion area to the east of the existing building and is to be capped and abandoned. The installation of a new well for the facility is to be coordinated. A water treatment system that meets MECP treatment guidelines for a public water system is to be provided.
