Description:
The purpose of this RFP is to retain a contractor or contracted firm to provide safety codes services in the building, plumbing, gas and electrical disciplines for the City of Lacombe. The current contract for these services expires on May 31, 2025. The City of Lacombe is requesting proposals from qualified firms with experience in providing safety codes services in the building, plumbing, gas, and electrical disciplines. All candidates are required to respond in written electronic form to the RFP and to submit documentation substantiating their qualifications to perform the services required. Lacombe has experienced consistent growth over the past decade and is experiencing (re)development pressure throughout the city. Lacombe has a wealth of historic structures, the highlight being the downtown flatiron building. The City has issued approximately 930 Building Permits over the past five years, as well as approximately 133 secondary permits per year. As an accredited municipality, the City has several permit issuers on staff for secondary permits and also manages the QMP in-house.
