Description:
CIFFC is extending an invitation to interested parties to provide proposals for developing the CIFFC Division Supervisor Course.The Division Supervisor (DIVS) position is pivotal in the fight against large-scale wildfires and is in high demand for national exchange. The DIVS course has to be builtbased on the recently approved CIFFC S-339 training standard.S-339 is a training standard strongly based on the concept of co-development, where students learn from each other through exchanges of experience. As a result, a core group of a certain number of students is required for the experience tobe meaningful and enriching.The training standard adopted by the CIFFC Training Working Group (TWG) was developed from a review of the existing Ontario DIVS training. To create a national standard training course, the Ontario DIVS training course material could be used and adapted where feasible tocreate learning material and simulations to reflect a national perspective.It is expected that the course duration will be between 3 to 4 days.
