• Tender are invited for Child Care Space Creation Grant
  Project Description : As part of the Alberta Canada Early Learning and Child Care Agreement (ACELCCA) signed November 2021, Alberta-s agreement with the federal government includes a target to create 42,500 additional spaces in non-profit child care programs by 2026. Grant funding is being provided to increase the number of child care spaces in communities with limited or no licensed child care, such as rural, remote and under-served populations, or in communities where there is a high demand for service. This application process will be used to identify qualified Applicants across the province that are interested and capable of creating new licensed child care spaces in Alberta. This application process will provide an opportunity for interested Applicants to be selected as recipients for grant funding. The Application will be used to assess interested Applicants- qualifications, organizational capacity, partnerships and collaborations, delivery plan and budget, and alignment with grant objectives.Applications will be released in phases. Each phase will consist of Categories where each Category will describe the objectives for funding spaces. For the first phase (July 2022), Categories will target non-profit groups to create space in existing licensed facilities where there is high-demand, new licensed facilities where there is high-demand and spaces in communities where there is limited to no child care.
