Project Description : Advance Contract Award Notice - Chemical AnalyzerTo contract with Abbott Laboratories to purchase a Blood Chemistry Analyzing System Model ARCHITECT c4000 Chemistry Analyzer.1. This equipment is an upgrade from our previous equipment with the same software and compatible components. Therefore we will need less training on the instrument.2. This company has technical staff and training staff locally, which will be in the facility within 24 hours to resolve any technical or software issues if they occur.3. This instrument is superior to other instruments in the testing of HbA1c one of the analytes used for inclusion criteria in our current clinical trial. There is no cross contamination with other analytes and it is a quantitative number instead of an estimated value.4. This instrument uses less sample volume, has a longer shelf life and on board stability which is critical in a research lab where we are not using it on a daily basis or in an automated mode.5. This instrument is more robust (less service call per year), meets our space and electrical requirements and is within our budget
