- The Ontario Battery and Electrochemical Research Centre (OBEC) will house a Li-ion battery and next generation battery prototyping lab capable of R&D level manufacturing of pouch and cylindrical type cells. The batteries to be manufactured are sensitive to moisture and need to be processed and packaged in an ultra-dry environment, usually with a dewpoint of typically -40 to -60°C.
