Summary Details:
This request for proposals (RFP) defines the scope of work, location, and project requirements for a new outdoor play space at the Children's Development Centre (CDC). The objectives of the project are to quickly and greatly increase the availability of outdoor play facilities for all students the at the CDC ('the school'). The CDC is currently undergoing a replacement of the building and it will be an active construction site until September 2021. The new building will consist of two (2) classrooms that will see fifteen (15) students in attendance. In addition to the school, Beacon Community Services will operate a space within the building.
The CDC offers an intensive, time-limited school experience designed to facilitate and support student growth in the areas of social and emotional development, while offering an individualized academic program focusing on literacy and numeracy.
Beacon Community Services is a community based, not-for-profit agency that provides care and support to people on southern Vancouver Island and the outer Gulf Islands through a wide range of programs and services including health, children and family, and volunteer services. Beacon, along with Schol District No. 63, support the co-location of child-based programs at this facility as it would enhance service delivery for both organizations.
