Description:
Project Description : This RFP is an invitation by the Calgary Public Library to prospective proponents to submit proposals for the Design and Build of an interactive play and learn indoor space using a full-sized decommissioned Fire Truck, specifically a City of Calgary Pumper Unit. The Fire Truck (“Engine 23”) was originally donated to the Library by the Calgary Fire Department and converted into an indoor play space for children at the old Central Library building. Now, the Library wishes to bring the unit out of storage and use it to enhance the children-s play and learning experience at one of its popular southeast location. Engine 23 will be located on the second floor of the Fish Creek Library, adjacent to the early learning centre (serving ages 0-5) and the Questionarium and children-s area (serving ages 6-12). It is the intent that the activation includes allowances for children to access the trucks interior cab as well as the top of truck space formally used for truck equipment storage.
