Description:
Detailed_Description : The Ministry-s objective is to have efficient and effective maintenance of both the Caithness and Oba Roads throughout the fiscal year 2025-2026 with option to extend until March 31, 2027. The Agreement is for on-call repair and maintenance services.
Scope of Work : The Caithness Road network includes the Caithness Road, the Oba Road and the Marjorie Road, which are all classified as forestry access roads. They are defined as roads located on Crown land not own 2027ed by a municipality and not dedicated and accepted as, or otherwise deemed at law to be, a public highway, which serve as a motor vehicle access route to one or more parcels of land. This is a service contract until March 31, 2026, with option to extend until March 31, 2027. Maintenance will consist of road grading and snowplowing of gravel surface, general construction services for road repairs such as culvert replacements or repairs due to washouts/beaver issues, brushing road right of way for visibility, road sign repair/replacement, ditch repairs for erosion control, gravel haul to improve road surface, minor bridge maintenance, and gravel screening.One part of the Work site commences on Caithness Road at kilometer 0 of the Kendall/Way Township line , and proceeds through Shetland, Orkney, Caithness, Scholfield, Pelletier, Minnipuka, Walls and Legge Townships, and ends at the C.N.R. right-of-way in Legge Townships for a distance of 93 km.; A second part of the work site commences at Caithness Road in Munnipuka Township and proceeds west on Marjorie Road in Walls Township and ends at the C.N.R right-of-way for a distance of 16 km.; A third part of the Work site commences at Caithness Road and proceeds west on Oba Road through Pelletier, Minnipuka, Walls and Hawkins Townships for a distance of approximately 33 kilometers and finishes at the community of Oba
