Description:
The Town of Amherstburg is located in Southwestern Ontario, approximately 30 kilometers southwest of the City of Windsor and is one of seven lower‐tier municipalities in the County of Essex. The current population of The Town of Amherstburg is just over 23,500.
The Town of Amherstburg wishes to procure a towing company to remove vehicles from private property under the Yard Maintenance By-law and off the highway under the Traffic By-law. The Corporation is seeking to hire a service provider for the towing and storage of motor vehicles. As described under the By-Law “Motor Vehicle means an automobile, truck, boat, motorcycle, snowmobile, trailer, recreational vehicle and any other vehicle propelled or driven by other than muscular power, but does not include the cars of electric or steam railways, or other motor vehicles running solely upon rails, or a traction engine, farm tractor, self-propelled implement of husbandry or road building machine within the meaning of the Highway Traffic Act, R.S.O. 1990, c.H8, as amended.”
Estimated annual number of vehicles to be towed is 20 (more or less).
The initial contract term is for a period of two (2) year with an option to extent for an additional one (1) year term, upon mutual agreement.
