- Black River First Nation is calling tenders for the Waste Transfer Station project. The project works must be completed by December 15, 2026. Sealed tenders will be received up to 11:00 am on Friday, January 23, 2026 at the office of JR Cousin Consultants Ltd. (JRCC), 91A Scurfield Blvd., Winnipeg, Manitoba.A partial listing of the works is as follows: Closure of the existing waste site including: cleanup of windblown litter, shaping existing waste material, importing, spreading, and compacting clay cover material from borrow. Construction of a Waste Transfer Station site including: Clearing and grubbing, topsoil stripping, importing clay material from borrow to build up the site Approximately 7,000 m2 of Granular A-Base and C-Base for access roads and material storage compounds Construction of a ramp, retaining wall, guard rail and concrete pads for roll-off bins Supply and placement of five seacans for material storage, a used oil storage tank and pre-cast jersey barriers for material separation Supply and placement of a 6.1 m long attendant trailer with washroom and buried wastewater holding tank Construction of a 97 m2 garage building with slab on grade concrete foundation and wood-frame construction Installation of 510 m of chain link fencing with three gates Signage, ditching, seeding, etc. A pre-tender meeting and test holes will be completed at the existing waste site at 10:00 am on Tuesday, January 13, 2026.Contact Brett McCormac, P.Eng.
