Tender are invited for Trade Agreement: Canadian Free Trade Agreement (CFTA)Tendering Procedures: All interested suppliers may submit a bidCompetitive Procurement Strategy: Lowest/Lower BidComprehensive Land Claim Agreement: NoNature of Requirements: Autonomous Camera Systems, Winnipeg, ManitobaDepartment of Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO), Winnipeg, Manitoba, wish to acquire eight (8) automated camera systems comprising camera housing and cameras. The systems will be mounted at terrestrial walrus haul-out sites and set up to take time-lapse photography at regular intervals that must be programmable. Camera systems will be deployed at sites throughout the Canadian Arctic for periods lasting up to several months, and must be capable of being powered throughout that time using either battery or solar power (preferably solar power). Systems should also have the option to send photographs using satellite technology, but must be capable of storing images taken during the deployment period. Time lapse photographs taken using the autonomous camera systems will allow quantification of walrus numbers over an extended period and help provide a deeper understanding of factors affecting walrus haul-out behavior.
