Description : The CIB is jointly pursuing the development of the Atlantic Loop transmission project (the “Project”). The Project consists of four key projects connecting Quebec to New Brunswick to Nova Scotia, as follows: Quebec - Manic-New Brunswick Link 225-265 km (expected to be a mix of overhead and subsea cables) 2x800 MW bipole converter New Brunswick - Eel River to Salisbury 310-370 km overhead line 2x800 MW bipole converter New Brunswick - Salisbury Line 70 km overhead line Nova Scotia - Onslow Line 120 km overhead line The transmission lines above are expected to be up to 1150 MW and a combination of HVDC/AC. The CIB and the Government of Canada are working together with the Province of Quebec, the Province of New Brunswick and the Province of Nova Scotia (together, the “Provinces”), as well as the utilities in each province, namely, Hydro-Quebec, New Brunswick Power Corporation and Nova Scotia Power Inc. (collectively, the “Utilities”) to develop the Project.
