Description:
The Government of Canada plans to reduce Canada-s GHG emissions to 40% below their 2005 levels by 2030, on the path to net-zero by 2050. The federal government-s release of Canada 2030: Emissions Reduction Plan (ERP) did not include a comprehensive analysis of the plan-s impacts on the national or provincial economies, or on Canadian households and businesses. Understanding these impacts is important, particularly given the present state of the Canadian economyThe project objective of this RFP is for the Consultant to conduct the ERP Analysis, which is to include: •Policy Analysis: Reviewing the ERP to assess the validity of its economic assumptions, technological assumptions, and other assumptions. •Economic and Fiscal Projections: Comprehensive modelling to determine the economic and fiscal impacts of the ERP, under both baseline and alternative scenarios nationally and for Alberta and other provinces. •Sectoral Impact Analysis: Projecting the impacts of the ERP by major sector/industry, including a baseline projection and alternative scenarios.•Environmental Impact Analysis: Projecting the environmental impacts of the ERP (e.g. CO2 emissions), including baseline and alternative scenarios.Please see the document for more information.
