- The Engineering Branch within the Ministry of Forests (MoF) is seeking proposals from qualified and experienced vendors to provide on-demand GIS (Geographic Information Systems), geospatial, and web mapping services. The purpose of this Request for Proposals (RFP) is to establish an “as and when” services contract for 2 years with an option to renew for 3 additional terms of 1 year, with a firm who can deliver specialized GIS services as and when required by the Coast Engineering Group with the Ministry.
This project involves building on the information and utilities previously developed to encompass further attributes and potentially a larger geographic area.
Working under the direction of the Ministry representative, the contractor will provide services on an “as and when needed” basis as funds permit. Specific tasks (deliverables) will be outlined in work orders provided by the Ministry representative and may involve the following:
1. Fine tuning, updating and maintenance of current web mapping interface and information.
2. Increasing geographic area of interest by merging multiple datasets by way of conflation.
3. Addition of terrain classification data / information associated with identified structures, locations and features of interest.
4. Addition of hazard classification data / information associated with identified structures, locations, and features of interest.
