Detailed_Description : The Archives of Ontario (AO) is the second largest archives in Canada, and the premier source of information about the history of the land we now call Ontario and its people. Since 1903, the AO has been collecting, managing, and preserving the documentary heritage of the province and promoting and facilitating its use by present and future generations. The collections held by the AO are a rich resource for the study of the history and people of the province. The collections document the decisions, functions, and activities of the Government of Ontario as well as private individuals, businesses, and organizations that are significant to the history and development of the province. The AO is asking the vendor community to provide information on their Archival Collection Management software product and approach that would incorporate all requirements for acquiring, maintaining, and providing access to a variety of records and information.
Scope of Work : The Archives of Ontario is gathering information of available Archival Collection Management software products to better understand the current landscape of the market of suppliers and services to help determine future purchasing options, requirements, and opportunities for innovation. A proposed software product that has the ability to support the full lifecycle management of archival records from accession to deaccession, which also supports search and discovery of these records by the AO-s archival staff and end users (such as researchers).It is requested that respondents provide an approximate time estimated and delivery approach to implement a typical solution.A shortlist of respondents to the RFI may be invited to provide a demonstration of their solution, either remotely or at a Ministry location, to show how their solution meets the system functionalities.
