• Notice is hereby given by the City of Vancouver (“City”) of its intent to contract with Gray Matter Systems Canada LLC for the supply and delivery/provision of Airwall License Renewal DESCRIPTION/SCOPE: The Neighbourhood Energy Utility supplies thermal energy to 47 customer buildings. At each customer building, we have an Energy Transfer Station, and we collect the performance data from the various sensors at each building. In order to communicate this data to our internal network, we have deployed airwalls at each customer building which prevents any cybersecurity attacks and a potential attack on the City-s network. When the airwalls were first commissioned, they were supposed to be on perpetual licence. However, Tempered Networks, who are the owners of this technology, changed this to annual licensing. As such, the NEU has to renew the software licence for each airwall annually. REASONS FOR THE DIRECT AWARD: Gray Matter Systems are the official vendor for Tempered Networks in Canada.
