Project Description : Advance Contract Award Notice - DiffractometerTo contract with Bruker AXS LLC to acquire a D8 Discover Plus Materials Research SAXS and XRD Diffractometer.This is a one of a kind, unique Small-Angle X-ray Scattering (SAXS)/ X-ray Diffractometer (XRD) system that utilizes a patented micro-focus X-ray source, optics and goniometer to achieve the applications of 1) high resolution XRD, 2) In-plane and out-of-plane Grazing Incidence SAXS and WAXS and 3) SAXS in both macro and micro diffraction analysis with high resolution, throughput, versatility, easy operation and least maintenance. There is no other commercial system capable of achieving all three of these capabilities in one system.The patented micro-focus source with integrated high brilliance 2D collimating optics produces intensity beyond all other types ofcommercially available X-ray sources, providing high stability, long life-time and ease-of-use, that doesn-t require maintenance. This uniqueX-ray source not only provides high performance of all the above applications, but also doesn-t require mechanical componentsswapping/changing when switching between applications. This is a critical feature for a multi user facility such as the nanoFAB, and is onlyavailable on this system from Bruker.
