Description : SFU needs to purchase a Vacuum Probe Station for the electrical characterization of microdevices. The probe station will need to have a minimum of six independent probes to allow for application and measurement of various signals to and from the devices-under-test. The probe station must have a temperature-controlled chuck. The devices will be tested under different pressures to study the transition from squeezed film damping to anchor/thermoelastic losses. The probe station must therefore be able to sustain vacuum levels. It is vital that different operational parameters may be controlled using a computer for automated data acquisition over extended periods.
