Detailed_Description : Advance Contract Award Notice - Molecular Multiplex Assay for Detection of Enteric ProtistsPublic Health Ontario (PHO) believes that the following procurement qualifies as a sole source or single source procurement. The purpose of this Advanced Contract Award Notice (ACAN) is to determine if there are other proponents capable of meeting the requirements of the procurement for the following supplies for PHO.Vendor: Seegene Canada Inc.Product: Molecular Multiplex Assay SystemPurpose: Detection of Enteric ProtozoaThe PHO Parasitology program routinely performs microscopy for incoming requests of enteric parasite testing referred to as Ova and Parasite examinations. This testing is performed in four test sites, London, Ottawa, Peterborough and Toronto. The program is seeking implementation of a molecular methodology to identify the most common and/or medically important enteric protists in Ontario, namely Dientamoeba fragilis, Cryptosporidium, Giardia duodenalis, Entamoeba histolytica and Cyclospora. PHO is therefore seeking supply of a Health Canada approved assay system capable of the detection of Dientamoeba fragilis, Cryptosporidium, Giardia duodenalis, Entamoeba histolytica, and Cyclospora from fecal clinical specimens.PHO believes that there is only one supplier capable of supplying the required goods in the Canadian Market. PHO intends to award a 2-year term contract to Seegene Canada Inc for the products described in the ACAN attachment.This request does not constitute a call for tenders.
