Calgary Transit requires KB Signaling Vital Logic Controller, associated modules, and other signaling components to replace faulty, intermittent, and end-of-life equipment. The LRT signaling system is safety-critical, and like-for-like replacement from the original vendor is essential to maintain safe and reliable operations. Failures of vital components can cause significant disruptions, including switch tenders, shuttle buses, customer inconvenience, and reputational risk. All requested items are long-lead and for existing field equipment. Alternative products would require costly re-engineering, testing, and commissioning.
