- The City of North Battleford, Saskatchewan, is seeking quotes from professional signal light company for the purchase and installation of pedestrian activated flashing crosswalk lights across 100th Street at the intersection of 100th Street and 17th Avenue, North Battleford. The intent of this request is to select a contractor who can supply all the necessary equipment and has experience labour to install 2 pedestrian activated interconnected flashing crosswalk lights cantilevered over the southern crosswalk at the intersection of 100th Street and 17th Avenue (one on each side). The qualified Contractor shall supply all labour, materials, supplies, equipment, tools, and supervision to install the crosswalk flashing lights at the south side of the intersection of 17th Avenue and 100th Street, over 100th Street. The qualify contractor will also work with the provincial crown corporations to conduct line locates and connect power to the flashing crosswalk lights. The crosswalk lights will flash towards vehicles approaching 17th Avenue from 100th Street, to warn drivers that pedestrians are crossing 100th Street at 17th Avenue. The minimum height restriction over 100th Street must be 5.9 metres from the road surface to the bottom of the lowest part of the crosswalk sign that is cantilevering over 100th Street. The poles and cantilever arms will be a unpainted galvanized steel. Communication and power cabling between the crosswalk standards and the power distribution pedestal will be run in conduits to allow for the power and communication cabling to be easily pulled in the future.
